Audrey Farrow McClintonAudrey Farrow McClinton, 87, of Huntington, WV entered this world on July 29. 1933, the third of six children born to Herman and Eva Farrow. She crossed over into eternity on January 10, 2021 peacefully at home with her daughter and granddaughters. Audrey was a life-long resident of Huntington, WV. She attended Barnett School and then Douglass High School…Home of the Wildcats. Audrey graduated in the class of 1951. Following graduation from high school, she went to work for Sylvania plant where she worked on an assembly line for a few years. But her love for children and wanting to help mold young minds to prepare them for elementary school and life would lead her to become a pre-school teacher. She worked with Head Start for a few years but would later join the staff of Barnett Child Care Center where she spent many years and would later retire. Over the course of her time at Barnett Child Care, she would positively affect the lives of many children and families. She loved every child she had the honor to have in her classroom as if they were her own. She made such an impact on each one that they never forgot “Mrs. McClinton”. Audrey was a life-long member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church until it’s closing in December 2016. Over the course of her years she would server in many capacities…The Youth and Senior Choirs, The United Methodist Women, Lay Member to the United Methodist Conference and Sunday School Teacher to name a few. Of all the areas in which she served the choir was her most cherished. She loved singing hymns and songs of praise to her Lord and Savior. She also sang with her sisters fondly known as “The Farrow Sisters”. For many years they sang all over Huntington, Parkersburg and many other areas within the local Tri-State Area. Once retired, she still wanted to give back to her community and she started baking rolls and cakes for anyone in the community of Huntington as well as areas outside of Huntington. She fondly became known as ‘the roll lady’. Her rolls and cakes blessed many dining tables during the holiday and special occasions. Audrey was also a charter member of the Musical Arts Guild of Huntington where she participated in many musicals and fall/spring concerts that the Guild performed. She was a member of the Guild for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Ernest McClinton, Sr; her parents, Herman and Eva Farrow; one brother and sister-in law, Perry and Norma Farrow; two sisters, Virginia Farrow Morris (Richard deceased) and Phyllis Farrow Danials (George).
