Bruce Hardwick Payne, Jr.
WHEELERSBURG-Bruce Hardwick Payne Jr., 94, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 in Fairfield, Ohio. Bruce was born January 17, 1927 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Bruce H. Payne and Irene Thompson Payne. He graduated from Ohio University with a BA Degree and was employed as Personnel Manager for Detroit Steel/Cyclops. Bruce was a member of Raceland First Assembly, Ashland, KY and he was a World War II Veteran of the Navy. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Fetters Payne, August 22, 2017 whom he married November 11, 1950. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bruce Gregory Payne. Bruce is survived by a daughter, Claudia Ann (Dean) Burk; two grandchildren, Lyndsel (Todd) Delaney and Dustin (Ryane) Burk and four great grandchildren, Stella Delaney, Harper Burk, Wyatt Burk and Hudson Burk.
Services for Bruce will be 12:00 noon Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor James Wells officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with graveside Military Honors by American Legion James Dickey Post #23.
