Franklin D. Adkins, 90, of Ona, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at home with his family folowing a short illness. He was born January 21, 1933 to Frank Downey and Cassie Lester Adkins in Wayne County, WV. He was a graduate of Wayne High School and Marshall University. He worked for many years in the oil and gas industry and was the owner of Adkins Production Company and Cabway Gas Company. and Adkins Gas Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pauline Akers Adkins; children, Carol and Todd Adkins; and all of his siblings. Frank is survived by his son, David (Lois) Scherer of Bidwell, OH; daughter, Theresa (Jim) Dean of Lebannon, TN, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Smith-Adkins of Ona, WV; grandchildren, Joshua Lykins and Lauren Dean of Lebannon, TN, and Spencer Dean of NY. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, WV with Minister Danny Evans officiating. He will be laid to rest at Forest Memorial Park.
