James Edward “Ed” Holton, 74, of Branchland, WV, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville by Rev. Chelcie Gibson. Burial will be in Holton-Miller Cemetery, West Hamlin. He was born May 29, 1949 in West Hamlin, WV a son of the late John and Lovie Nida Holton. He is also preceded in death by brothers Gilbert Monty Holton and Donald Ray Holton, nephew Richard Ray “Richie” Holton, and brother-in-law Robert Glen Miller. He retired from Special Metals and Lincoln County OES-911. He is survived by one son, Jamie Holton (Jill) of Barboursville; one sister, Faye Miller of West Hamlin; one brother Francis Willard Holton (Anita) of Salt Rock; two sister-in-laws Jan Holton of Branchland and Patsy Holton of Branchland; two grandchildren, Ben and Sarah Holton and several nieces and nephews.
